I can only Imagine

I can only Imagine

I can only imagine
what he looks like,
for I have never looked upon his face.

I can only imagine
him touching me,
for his hands have ever felt me.

I can only imagine
what his kisses would taste like,
for his mouth has never met mine.

I can only imagine
by the way I feel inside,
because he holds the key to my heart.

I can only imagine
He Is An Angel

It is said that once a person taste of these magic river waters they will return. The door is to the cabin not locked, come on in. There are steaks in the frig, make yourself at home and stay awhile.

Enjoy the view from high mountains roads by day, and delight in the moon that comes out at nigh; it is as large as the sky itself.

The wood is stacked for winter heat, throw a log on the fire, put your feet up, and make yourself comfortable.

The river sings its magic song, the coyote resonate at night in harmony, the owl sees you and says, “Who, who, who goes there? OH yes I remember you. Fear not, you are welcome. ”

That twisty mountain road, no stops off the edge, save for large trees that have fish hooks at their base as they cling to the cliffs.

One slip and down a person goes, how far? As far as a person can see in a straight line from that height--- 20 miles at least if not more.

That twisty mountain road, so narrow, so crude, is this really a road? Best to stop, go no further, get out of the truck, and give the heart a rest. NO, NO, do not look over the edge---do not do that, as fears are confirmed! Gawd that is steep! Straight down as far as one can imagine. Sitting in that truck as a passenger, is like riding on an airplane wing---what good is a seat belt when a truck can not fly.

“Let us go a little further.” the driver says, “it is safe.”

“Yeah, and where are your wings?” the passenger explains, “NOW STOP.”

“You sure you want me to stop, you are having such a good time?” the drive says with confidence but not being persuasive.

“STOP, just stop, I want my feet on hard ground!” the passenger retorts.

That twisty mountain road, the propagation of height fears, and human sight has never seen so far in a straight line in day time. That high road dug in on the side of a cliff, that no one should be on brings a person to reality. Has any person ever really, I mean really ever returned from that place in the sky? NO. Not once has a person been there to that place in the heavens—they never return---they are never the same.

The truck stops, the passenger gets out, and says, “You are out of your mind, how will we ever get down off this mountain?”

The driver says, “There is a short cut but do not take that rout, birds can take that flyway but I would not recommend it for humans.” Come see and look down there, look way down there—that is an eagle in flight, how does it feel to look at an eagles’ back while it is soaring at 2,000 feet.”

“OH MY GAWD!, is this real!” the passenger remarks seeing the tops of trees; trying to feel fear, but more amazed than dazed.

“YES, my friend that is real.” The driver tells, “As real as one can get real. You are safe, enjoy, but please step away from the edge if you would be so kind. I know you are an angle, the best ever I have seen, I ever have the delight to know, but free air flight is not your time just yet.”

“What are we to do?” the passenger ask, “We can not go up, can not turn around, can not go down, we are stuck miles from NO WHERE!”

“NOT so.” the driver teaches, “You want to go further “up”, then get in the truck, and buckle up.”

“NO, NO, not a chance of that.”, the passenger tells, “We will never get out of this high mountain hell.”

“Then this is the limit and as far as you go? You will not relent no matter of glories told? There is a lake up above so pure, clean, and divine; hop in the truck and let us climb.” The diver said, and knew so well; but never a force, but to see the smiles and excitement of the passenger that he is sworn to protect.

NO, NO, up is not an option, but to get down, now stop being a clown.” The passenger replied as if in an instance we would all die.

“What ever you desire and we are safe, no safer place than in this high space. However, down you want, then down we go. We take the scenic rout and not the path the birds go.” The driver spoke with a turn of the wheel, “Please stand back, next to the wall of the cliff, I will turn this truck around on a spot of commitment.”

That twisty mountain high road, no stops off the edge, seeing an eagle’s back from above, and so much to love. But down we came, and I drove slow, the company was the best, the best I ever drove.

Back to the river than runs in that valley, so pure, so nice, better than holy. A small cabin on the river lacks high minded folly. The moon came out that night, and we enjoyed, and the best is never told, but for a moment in tally.

I said, “Look up and see that mountain top in the moon light, NO way up there to the top! No, look up further until you see the stars. We almost got there but we had to stop.”

That lake is still way up there, not a lie on my part but truth told. That twisty mountain road, no stops off the edge, only the brave of heart go so far as you did. If I had my way, I would drive, escort, you to the stars. However, we saw those stars from the cabin below, so I am happy as the truth is told. My, my, my, how that moon did glow—a full moon of smiles at that.

That twisty mountain road, sounds like life to me. There are no stops going off the edge. A great chance she took, more than ever said. Brave and kind, adventurous but reasonable, believing but doubtful, fearful but courageous, feeling but in reserve, do good at every chance to every one, so has been life been to me, and proven a fact to her.

OHMY Don, you found me. Sorry didn't go back to vince's to see if you saw my post. I love the story you wrote only because it is true. A time in Sept. 2004 that I will never forget. I still have all the pics I took while visiting. I wanted to come back again and then so much was going on. I think I deleted your number by mistake on my cell. If you get this please call me again and I will call you back. I have missed you and that awesome cabin.. I mostly miss Bob haha. how is that sweet cat doing? Now if I come an visit. He has to give me my bed back and eat outside. no mice in the cabin please haha.

Ummmm is the river low like it was back then. Is the canoe still in the same place? I cannot wait to go hiking again.. Hope you can get time off work. So how is the legal business going? I am still so proud of you.

Love to you forever and always.

Beautiful as ever my angel, or is it, angelic as ever my beauty???

I can never get that one right, perhaps if I had a little reiki to be going on with...

I'm afraid you have corrupted me with your poetry ma'am. I don't seem to be able to find those deliciously dark verbal images in quite the same way that I did of old.

I need to sin a little more often

Such longing. I feel a tinge of sorrow. I do hope that you are happy Shyloh. Hopefully, only the speaker of this poem longs for such sweet sensation.

Beautiful.
